The Boy and I Who Will Break Up in 100 Days (2026) follows Kasuga Yuma and Hasegawa Itsuki, a same-sex couple who become social media favorites after speaking publicly about the partnership declaration system for sexual minorities. When they are invited to film a 100-day documentary about their life together, Yuma accepts in hopes of encouraging greater understanding of homosexuality. The problem is that the couple has already broken up. Determined to keep appearances intact, Yuma convinces Itsuki to continue acting like a happy couple for the cameras, while documentary director Kayano Shiho unknowingly searches for authenticity in their relationship. As emotions and expectations collide, the series explores love, identity, honesty, and the emotional strain of maintaining a carefully constructed image.
