The WONDERfools

It’s 1999, and the world is holding its breath for the apocalypse. In Haeseong City, Eun Chae Ni—a wild-haired troublemaker living with her eccentric grandmother—never expected to be anyone’s hero. That changes when a mysterious incident grants her and neighbors Son Gyeong Un and Kang Ro Bin unstable, gloriously imperfect superpowers. As unexplained disappearances plague the city, this clumsy trio joins forces with Lee Un Jeong, a prickly civil servant from Seoul who’d rather work alone. Their enemy? Ha Un Do, a chillingly calm man whose rational smile hides a catastrophic plan. The WONDERfools (2026) is a Korean action-comedy about the heroes nobody wanted—least of all themselves. Chaotic, heartfelt, and wildly entertaining, it asks: what happens when the fate of a city rests in the hands of people who can barely control their own abilities? Sometimes, wonder comes from the most foolish places.
